D A Shanks Limited offer the full range of Forestry Ground Preparation operations, from creating access tracks for harvesting machinery through Trench and Hinge mounding to V draining, brash raking and creating ATV tracks.
We specialise in restock mounding especially on awkward sites where windblown stumps, steep ground or soft peaty areas can cause problems - our machines are specially modified to deal with all these problems and more.
We are also very experienced at dealing with large and small scale remote open hill or new planting schemes, having low impact machinery and techniques for resupplying fuel as well as developing our own completely inverted flat mound system.
Our extra low ground pressure 1.2m wide tracks are particularly well suited for open hill mounding or deep peat works such as draining, mulching or roading.
